PLOT
Aoba Watase, a typical high school student, is abruptly saved by his enigmatic classmate Hina Yumihara from being attacked by a huge robot known as a "Valiancer." Hina abruptly sends Aoba 70 years into the future to save him after admitting that she and their robotic foe are from the future. Upon landing, Aoba discovers himself in the cockpit of a Valiancer named "Luxon," caught up in a conflict between the armed forces of the Zogilia Republic and the Free Pact Alliance (FPA). He and FPA pilot Dio Weinberg successfully "couple" once he demonstrates their high compatibility. This allows them to share experiences and consequently develop their abilities and skills. Even though Aoba manages to survive this surprising encounter, the FPA spacecraft Cygnus captures him in order to question him. The student's major concern is whether he would ever be able to go home, but he is going to get involved in a war to defend the planet, which he is unaware of.
