INFORMATION

PLOT

Five years have passed since a disaster in Japan with an unknown cause. Umatar Tenma and Hiroshi Ochanomizu, two young geniuses from Nerima University, collaborate to create Bewußtsein, a novel form of artificial intelligence with a "ego" or "mind." With it, they construct A106 (Atom in Japanese pun), an autonomous robot with personality and will. However, their Laboratory 7 consistently lacks funding. The faculty also has a hard time comprehending them. They compete in a Robot Wrestling competition for the cash prizes to raise money. They triumph by taking advantage of the flaws in their rivals, and in the end, they defeat the previous champion, Mars, to win the match and take the limelight. However, when they attempt to learn more about Dr. Lolo, the creator of Mars, out of curiosity, things take an unexpected turn. Due to their involvement in the darkness of the calamity five years ago, the mysteries of the underground, and the murkiness of the government, both Umatar and Hiroshi wind up being targeted by an unidentified group. Despite this, their spirits are unaffected. Upper administration at the university and the Ministry of Science have requested them to take part in the World Robot Battling (WRB) competition in Australia using the A107 successor to A106 (Yuran). The other robots started to act erratically as Yuran's passion for the race grew, though. The WRB is ultimately cancelled, and when they get back to Japan, Hiroshi's grandfather, who had been away, showed up in front of them. He related a fantastic tale about a "boy-shaped robot from the future" to them (which Hiroshi had heard of before). Umatar and Hiroshi set out for Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam based on the information his grandfather had given them. There, they partially unravel the enigma behind the robot in the form of a boy.
