PLOT
Yomi Takanashi is a shy, reserved girl that Mato Kuroi just so happens to run across on the first day of junior high school. In an effort to get to know Yomi, Mato makes every effort to strike up a conversation. She is initially ignored, but the tension is eventually broken when Yomi accidentally spots a decorative blue bird from the children's book "Li'l Birds At Play" attached to Mato's phone. The two become a close connection after realizing they share a same passion. The young ladies are parallel beings in a parallel universe, Mato as Black-Rock Shooter and Yomi as Dead Master. Unaware of this truth, the girls unintentionally become entangled in the threads of fate as what occurs in one realm seems to have an impact on the other.
