The first half of the series is devoted to the tale from the Allison light novels, and the second half shifts to the plot from the Lillia and Treize light novels. The universe of Allison & Lillia has a single continent that is divided in half from north to south by the imposing Central Mountains and the enormous Lutoni River. Two civilizations evolved on either side of the split as a result of geography. Although Roxche (, Rokushe) is a more popular name for the eastern region, it is officially recognized as the Roxcheanuk Confederation. There are sixteen countries in the entire region, and they all speak the same language. Although officially named as the United Kingdom of Bezel Iltoa, the western part is more commonly referred to as Sou Beil (, S B Iru). This area is home to the two kingdoms of Bezel and Iltoa, which together serve to unite a small group of nations speaking the same language as the eastern region. In comparison to the east, the west has more blondes. It is summertime in the imaginary universe at the start of the novel, which takes place in the year 3287. The battle between the two regions has been raging for much of history at this point, with the most recent hostilities starting about 35 years before the first episode of the series. With only one significant fight over the past thirty years, an armistice has established a buffer zone of 30 kilometers (19 mi) on either side of the river. The global economy and technological advancements resemble those of the 1930s. The Roxche Air Force's Allison Whittington, a young, blonde pilot with prior knowledge of biplanes, is the main character of the first half of the narrative. She returns after a six-month absence to see her close friend Wil Schultz (short for Wilhelm, so called Vill) at the dormitory at Rowe Sneyum Senior School. Wil, a Roxche resident, enjoys reading, has a photographic memory, and is a skilled shooter. Over the course of a year, the two engage in three separate adventures where they meet new people and develop vital relationships. About fifteen years after the first half of the story ends, the second half begins. The protagonist of the tale is Lilliane Schultz, also known as Lillia, the child of Allison and Wil. While Allison is still Wil's girlfriend, he has since adopted the military alias Travas. Treize, a buddy from childhood who is the son of Carr Benedict and Fiona and who has a twin sister named Merielle, is Lillia's companion. While Lillia is off from school for the summer, Treize and she embark on their first journey.
