Not your normal Japanese high school, Fumizuki Academy. This special institution has put in place a brand-new, cutting-edge mechanism to classify its students. Students take a test that divides the student body at the conclusion of their first year. The A class, for the top scoring, goes all the way down to F class, for the lowest of the low. Unfortunately for Akihisa Yoshii, his purportedly "excellent" intellect proved insufficient for such a test, and he is currently stuck at the bottom of the F class. Of course, F class has the poorest amenities, including rusty tatami mats, broken tables, and even obsolete technology and shabby furniture. The good news is that his friend Yuuji Sakamoto is in the same class, and to everyone's astonishment, Mizuki Himeji, a brilliant young woman, has also ended up there after developing a sudden fever the day of the test. Unhappy with their privileges, F class unites around Yuuji and resolves to use the school's Examinations Summon Battle system to take on the higher-tiered classes in order to obtain their privileges. In a full-scale combat, the participants can call forth fantastical beings with strength levels corresponding to their students' test scores. Will the F class live up to everyone's expectations and succeed, or will they fall short?
