PLOT
The Guylos Empire and the Helic Republic engaged in war before the series began, which resulted in a ceasefire. Van finds the organoid Zeke in ruins close to his hamlet while being pursued by a gang of robber Zoid pilots in the first episode of the series. Van wields a Shield Liger that had been abandoned by Zeke to fend off the thieves. He returns to the same ruins and finds Fiona, a strange young woman with no memory. The bandits show up when Van gets back to his town and try to steal Zeke from him. He departs with Fiona in order to keep his village secure. Van overhears Fiona talking about something called Zoid Eve and resolves to assist her in locating it in the hopes that it may aid in bringing back her memories. They eventually run into Irvine. Due to Irvine's attempts to steal Zeke, Van and Irvine start off as rivals, but when they encounter Moonbay, they decide to journey together. As a result of Moonbay blowing up her cargo to aid Van, he must travel with her.
