PLOT
Ichigo Momomiya anticipated a more passionate conclusion to her date with Masaya Aoyama than her passing out after having a dream about a cat entering her body. The next day, she starts acting more like a cat, with strong cat-like urges to eat fish, which makes things even odd. Masaya learns she has the ability to change into the cat-eared magical girl Mew Ichigo after she is attacked by a monster. After she helps Masaya, two scientists named Ryou Shirogane and Keiichiro Akasaka come up to her and confess that they have given her Iriomote Cat DNA in order to turn her into a magical girl who can defend the planet from extraterrestrial invasion. Despite being tasked with defeating these monsters, Ichigo finds that preserving the world is simply too much for her to accomplish alone. Luckily, she finds out that there are four other girls much like her, and now Ichigo has to locate them quickly before the aliens totally take over the planet.
