PLOT
The main characters of the series are a Japanese vampire girl named Miyu and her Western Shinma friend Larva, who are stranded in the area between the human world and the demonic underworld. Miyu is the daughter of a Shinma and a human (a name for a race of "god-demon"). She was awakened as the guardian with the duty of tracking down all stray Shinma and sending them back to "the Darkness"; saddled with the burden of sending the evil demons away because she was born a vampire. She yearns to return to the darkness before she reaches the age of 15, but not until she has expelled all the Shinma from Earth. Since being roused, she has been cut off by the realities of who and what she is.
