PLOT
Zero returns following his departure from the academy in a direct sequel to the previous season. Despite her relief, Yuuki wonders what precisely happened to Zero during the separation because she still doesn't know much about her background. Zero approaches the now-awake Maria Kurenai in an effort to learn more while he continues to experience the bizarre vision that has been present ever since the day he took Kaname's blood. She merely offers him a cryptic response that speculates as to who the real adversary might be. In the meantime, Supreme Vampire Council vampires show up to the academy to execute Zero for the crime of killing a pureblood. Kaname, however, interferes with the council's decision for a different reason that is unknown to those around him, in addition to wanting to save Zero.
