PLOT

The protagonist of the tale is the humorous superhero Kinnikuman, true name Suguru Kinniku, who learns that he is the missing prince of the planet Kinniku (known for producing the greatest superheroes in the universe). However, because he is a clumsy fool, he must establish his suitability for the crown. To do this, he competes in wrestling matches and fights the villain Chojin. The action culminates in a match between Kinnikuman and five rivals for the title: Kinnikuman Big Body, Soldier, Zebra, Mariposa, and Super Phoenix. Many of Kinnikuman's comrades start out as villains or haughty heroes (Ramenman, Buffalo Man, Ashuraman, and Warsman) (Terryman, Robin Mask and Wolfman). Together, the good guys and bad guys are referred to as Chojin, which is Japanese for "supermen."
