PLOT
Despite being an excellent high school student, Fuutarou Uesugi had a difficult life. He has no friends because of his distant attitude and reclusive lifestyle, and his family is struggling to make ends meet because of his debt-ridden father. Uesugi and the female transfer student who has taken "his seat" dispute one day during their lunch break, which makes both of them loathe one another. The same day, he is offered a fantastic chance to pay off his family's debt: a private teaching position for the daughter of an affluent family, with a salary that is five times the going rate. He agrees to the proposition only to be startled to learn that Itsuki Nakano, the client, is the girl he earlier confronted! Itsuki is actually a quintuplet, so in addition to her, he must also tutor her sisters, Miku, Yotsuba, Nino, and Ichika, who, despite the very real threat of failing, don't want to work with a tutor. After trying unsuccessfully to win back Itsuki's favor, Uesugi learns that his problems don't end there. Uesugi perseveres despite his family's livelihood being in jeopardy, steadfast in his goal to help the girls overcome their dislike of studying and successfully guide them toward graduation.
