PLOT
Tenchi Masaki, now seventeen, grew up hearing legends of how his ancestor, seven hundred years ago, used a sword to confine a monster inside a cave. Tenchi visits the cave when his curiosity gets the better of him and finds the legendary sword there. He takes away the blade, believing the tale to be nothing more than a fairy tale, unintentionally releasing the demon, who later reveals himself to be a space pirate by the name of Ryouko Hakubi. She assaults Tenchi in rage at having been imprisoned for so long, but he repels her with the sword, awakening his inner power. Ryouko notices this and decides to stay at the home of her unlikely savior after taking an interest in him. More alien ladies gradually come into contact with Tenchi and start living with him, including Washuu Hakubi, a wisecracking genius, Sasami, Aeka Jurai Masaki, a prim princess from the planet Jurai, Mihoshi Kuramitsu, a snarky Galactic Police Officer, and Aeka Jurai Masaki. Tenchi begins to learn more about his ancestry, his newly discovered power, and the impending danger that lurks beyond the skies through his interactions with these five women.
