PLOT
The setting of Strawberry Marshmallow is Japan's Hamamatsu. As the characters engage in numerous customary seasonal activities, the seasons are significant to Strawberry Marshmallow. Numerous subtle musical allusions may be found throughout the series. For instance, Ana's dog Frusciante is named after John Frusciante of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, while episode eight of the anime features two goldfish with the names Richard and James. The title itself was influenced by Tamio Okuda's track "Mashimaro," a Japanese rock song.
