PLOT
A self-described "crazy scientist" by the name of Rintaro Okabe thinks that SERN, a global scientific organization, is planning to restructure the world to suit its own purposes. Together with his friend Itaru Hashida, he unintentionally develops a device that can communicate with the past. This instrument's discovery and experimentation serve as the impetus for significant changes in the present. Okabe is the only one who is aware of these alterations since he has a Reading Steiner, which allows him to remember events from earlier timelines that he has experienced. Rintaro and his companions wind up making modifications of terrible proportions because they were careless with the results of their actions. Then, in order to preserve his priceless lab companions, he must try to figure out a means to go back as near as possible to the original timeframe.
