Superior Defender Gundam Force, a Japan/America co-production, had its first 26 episodes air on the Cartoon Network in the United States. Later, 52 episodes were aired on TV Tokyo in Japan, making it the longest Gundam series ever to air. The TV series was the first Japanese anime to not have a VHS home video release; instead, each of the three DVD versions of the TV series' home videos only have one episode each. Fans petitioned for the second half of the series to be released despite the final 26 episodes not airing on American television. On 2008, the final 26 episodes were released in an English-dubbed DVD package.
