PLOT
Sasami Iwakura was born with magical abilities, but her parents restrict her from using them until she is three years old. She thus makes the decision to conceal her magical abilities. Her life is about to change when, at the beginning of a new term, she meets the new transfer teacher Washu and her pet dog Ryo-Ohki. As the magic girls Sasami, Misao, Makoto, Tsukasa, and Anri are introduced, the first season/series is devoted to character development. The girls train with Washu and Daimon as part of their "cooking club," learning about themselves as they find their blossoming skills. In the end, they travel to the magical realm to compete against other magic squad teams, some of which contain boys.
