PLOT
A passing swordsman saves a young child named Shinta from certain death as a bandit raid kills a group of travelers. The swordsman, known as Hiko Seijr, is a master of the strongest sword form known as the Hiten Mitsurugi. Hiko is pleased by the youngster after witnessing him bury the dead of both travelers and bandits. Hiko then hires Shinta as his apprentice and gives him the new name "Kenshin," which he feels is more fitting for a swordsman.
