PLOT
The exploits of country girl Yucie are followed in Petite Princess Yucie as she is unexpectedly accepted into the exclusive Princess Academy, where the daughters of aristocracy and nobility study magic, dancing, etiquette, defense, art, and music. She encounters a variety of things there as she searches for the "fragments" of the Eternal Tiara in the hopes of becoming the fabled Platinum Princess, who is picked once every thousand years. Yucie must develop in heart—if not in height—to become deserving of the Tiara, along with the four other Princess hopefuls who first oppose her but are won over by her promise of friendship. Despite living a simple existence, Yucie is actually the daughter of a noble and previous hero who has withdrawn from courtly life and now lives in the countryside. She is a lively heroine with a gift for smiles. She was found as a newborn by Gunbard, the former hero, who came across her in the midst of a conflict.
