PLOT
After being wrongfully placed on probation for saving a woman from sexual assault, Ren Amamiya, a new transfer student at Shujin Academy, is transferred to Tokyo to live with his family friend Sojiro Sakura. On his way to his first day at his new school, Ren discovers a weird software on his phone that transports him to the Metaverse, a place where people's "shadows"—distorted representations of who they really are—are stored. He awakens his Persona in the Metaverse, a strength that comes from deep within him and provides him the ability to battle the shadows. He creates the Phantom Thieves of Hearts with the aid of other unhappy students, hoping to deliver people from their immoral impulses by "stealing their heart," causing evildoers to regret their acts and turn over a new leaf. The group's celebrity continues to spread quickly and includes both good and bad recognition. Ren, however, is apprehended and detained at the height of their success. He awakens to a rough interrogation at this location, but Sae Niijima, a prosecutor looking for information, arrives and ends the process. What will happen to the Phantom Thieves and how will she respond to his story?
