PLOT
The thirteenth year of the Tenp period, 1842, when the story is set, in Edo. All luxuries have been outlawed by government reforms, including plays, shows, innovations, and fireworks. Seikichi, a teenage firework manufacturer, has ambitions to create a massive firework that is unlike anything else, despite the political atmosphere. But each time he launches a test rocket, the government starts to hunt him down. A white monster and a blue monster are engaged in combat in the woods one night while also confronting a squad of human fighters. Although the blue monster obtains the upper hand, Seikichi's rocket diverts attention, allowing the white monster to flee. The following day, a mystery girl approaches Seikichi and requests that he build a firework that will travel as far as the moon.
