PLOT
Miharu Rokujo is a contemporary Japanese student who is unconcerned with his surroundings. Koichi Aizawa and Tobari Kumohira, two ninja associated with the Banten Village, one day defend Miharu from a ninja. He discovers that the Shinra Banshou, a scroll containing the most potent hidden art in the Nabari ninja universe, is carried by his body. Miharu cannot go back to his regular life because the Grey Wolves, a group connected to Iga Village that seeks to use the Shinra Banshou for their own gain, will kill him for the secret art. Tobari promises to look out for him until he assumes control of Nabari even though he has no desire to deal with ninja. Instead, Miharu requests the removal of the Shinra Banshou, which has never been accomplished. Raimei Shimizu, a samurai from the nearby Fuuma ninja hamlet, shows up shortly after to assess Miharu's skills. Eventually, Raimei extends an invitation to Kotarou Fuuma, the head of Fuuma Village, to meet with the Banten ninja. He has written every book on ninjutsu, thus he might be able to find a means to get rid of the Shinra Banshou.
