PLOT
"Initial D Extra Stage" is a two-part Original Video Animation (OVA) side story that complements the main "Initial D" anime series. Known for its focus on street racing and car culture, "Initial D" follows Takumi Fujiwara, a high school student with an innate talent for driving, as he gets involved in the world of street racing. "Initial D Extra Stage" shifts focus to two supporting characters from the main series: Mako Sato and Sayuki, the racing duo known as Impact Blue from Usui. The two OVAs explore the backstory and relationship of these characters, adding more depth to their roles. In the first OVA, we get a glimpse into Mako's past, her unrequited love for fellow racer Iketani of the Akina Speed Stars, and how it affects her racing. The second OVA, "Extra Stage 2," delves further into Impact Blue's racing dynamics and how Mako and Sayuki navigate their racing career and personal life.
