PLOT
A Japanese scientist develops the "Infinite Stratos" powered exoskeleton in the near future (IS). The IS poses a threat to global instability because it possesses technology and fighting abilities that far beyond those of any previous military system. In response to this powerful weapon, the world's governments enact the "Alaska Treaty," which forbids the use of ISes in military conflict and requires that the existing IS technology be spread evenly among all countries in order to prevent any one nation from dominating the others. However, society has drastically changed since the IS was first introduced. Because ISes can only be run by women, the power dynamic between men and women has changed, with women now holding a disproportionate amount of influence in society.
