PLOT
A businessman checking into the hotel after taking the train home from work is the subject of the first series, "The Nightmare Begins," which consists of 25 stories. When he runs across Gregory, the hotel's enigmatic owner, he is advised to stay in Room 205 for a time. Gregory eventually loses his sense of self, seeing the first visitor as nothing more than a tiny fragment of himself. As he urgently seeks to leave this purgatory, the man eventually finds himself involved in a peculiar series of activities occurring inside Gregory House. Even though he tries to get back to his wife and son, he finds reality to be too dull and voluntarily goes back. Haniwa Salaryman's future as an empty shell is strongly hinted at.
