"Ghost Slayers Ayashi" (also known as "Tenpou Ibun Ayakashi Ayashi") is an anime series produced by Bones. The series is set in the Edo period of Japan and follows the story of a wandering vagabond named Yukiatsu Ryudo. Yukiatsu has the power to fight and exorcise Youi, monsters that are drawn to human negative emotions and desires. He's part of a group known as the Ayashi, which is affiliated with the Bansha Aratamesho, a secret governmental organization that investigates strange phenomena. Yukiatsu's past is shrouded in mystery, and he fights Youi using the power of Ayagami, a calligraphy-based ability that materializes words into physical objects or actions. The series delves into the relationships and interactions between the Ayashi members as they deal with the Youi menace and various social issues of the period.
