Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid is the third season of the "Full Metal Panic!" anime series. Following the comedic spin-off season, "Fumoffu," "The Second Raid" returns to the series' action and mecha roots while still maintaining elements of comedy and high school drama. The series continues the story of Sousuke Sagara, a highly skilled soldier working for the covert anti-terrorist private military organization known as Mithril. Sousuke has the critical task of protecting Kaname Chidori, a spirited high school girl who is targeted by various groups because of her status as a "Whispered" - individuals who possess intuitive knowledge of advanced technology. In "The Second Raid," Sousuke and Mithril face a new enemy organization called Amalgam. This new threat not only possesses advanced technology but also has ties to Sousuke's mysterious past. Meanwhile, Sousuke's protective duties for Kaname become more complicated, leading to tension and development in their relationship.
