PLOT
Shirou Emiya, a diligent and honorable youngster, is the protagonist of the story. He unwittingly enrolls in the Fifth Holy Grail War, a deathmatch competition where participants use magic and historical Heroes to battle for the chance to have their desires granted by the famous Holy Grail. Shirou was adopted as a child by a retired wizard named Kiritsugu Emiya, who would pass away years later. Shirou was orphaned and the only survivor of a terrible fire in Fuyuki City as a child. He developed a tremendous yearning for justice and peace as a result of his perception of responsibility for those who passed away and his redemption through his father. So, even though others frequently take advantage of his charity at this level, he diligently trains his body and meager magic skills in order to someday tremendously assist others.
