PLOT
Yui is a typical schoolgirl who lives in a world where COMNET, a single worldwide network, supports all computers. After a computer lab mishap, Yui, a young girl with no prior computer experience, is approached by IR, a raccoon-like corrector computer software, who urges her to save COMNET. She has to prevent Grosser, a malicious artificial intelligence (AI) computer program, and his hench-programs from destroying the Earth. Grosser was initially intended to serve as COMNET's general manager. She initially has a strong reluctance to play the lead role due to her utter lack of computer knowledge and expertise. She needs to track down the other seven misbehaving corrector programs and win their trust in order to save COMNET. To permanently halt Grosser, they must also track down Professor Inukai, the founder of COMNET.
