Aya Mikage and her fraternal twin brother Aki are compelled to spend their sixteenth birthday at their grandfather's house; however, they are unaware that this is actually a test to determine if they are descended from angels or celestial maidens. Aya discovers that she is one of numerous reincarnations of Ceres, a vengeful and extraordinarily strong celestial girl who can only control her mind and body under extreme stress or rage. Aya has the supernatural powers of flight, teleportation, telepathy, strong telekinesis, premonition, and superhuman speed when she transforms into Ceres. She can also project damaging pink energy blasts from her hands and create impenetrable shelters of vivid pink celestial energy. he Mikage family would finally be destroyed by Ceres in vengeance for taking her celestial gown, preventing her from returning to Heaven, according to legend. Because of this, Aya's grandfather and his group attempt to kill her, but Suzumi Aogiri, another descendant of a heavenly maiden, and Yhi, Suzumi's brother-in-law, save her. Suzumi is a very powerful celestial. Aya fights to overcome Ceres' hold on her and permanently calms her spirit. The furious soul of "Mikagi," the original ancestor of the entire Mikage family who kidnapped Ceres and imprisoned her on Earth, ultimately entirely overtakes her brother Aki. Aya assures Ceres that in return for Ceres not killing those who hunt her, especially Aki, because Aya still loves them as family, she will assist in locating the celestial gown.
