According to an urban legend, a shinigami has the power to relieve people of their agony. Boogiepop is the moniker of this "Angel of Death." And the stories are real. Real boogiepop exists. The police and professors at Shinyo Academy believe they are dealing with a group of runaways when a spate of female student disappearances starts to occur there. However, some pupils are wiser. There is a sinister and mysterious plot afoot. Boogiepop or something even more nefarious—which is it?
