PLOT
The amnesiac female cyborg Alita is the subject of the anime Battle Angel Alita. Cybermedical expert Daisuke Ido discovers her intact head and chest in the neighborhood garbage dump. After reviving her, Ido discovers she has lost her memories and gives her the name Alita in honor of his lately passed-away cat. The reconstructed Alita, despite having no other memories, instantly remembers the famous martial art Panzer Kunst. Alita uses her Panzer Kunst to excel at both the harsh gladiator sport of Motorball and as a bounty hunter, slaying cyborg criminals in the Scrapyard. Alita recalls her past life on Mars while engaged in combat. As one of their agents, she joins the floating city of Zalem (Tiphares in some earlier versions) and is tasked with finding criminals. First and foremost is the brilliant lunatic Desty Nova, who has a complicated and dynamic relationship with Alita.
