PLOT
The planet has been overrun by aliens for some years in the year 2059. Dr. Noguchi and his assistants Maki Agata and Tukuto Kenishiro strive to revive the professor's experiment, a gigantic Bio-Mechanical alien called Frank, in an effort to discover more about these alien life forms. The alien begins to "live" during this process, and the lab is then destroyed, leaving Takuto as the lone survivor and the alien vanishing into the countryside. Hattie, a little girl who is emotionally troubled because her parents were slain in the first "close encounter" battle, is encountered by Frank as he wanders the countryside. Strangely, she is able to communicate with Frank, and shortly after that, they are arrested by a secret organization known simply as "Funeral." In the meantime, Takuto awakens in a hospital bed, his life in ruins and his face deformed. Takuto, driven by a desire for vengeance and a broken heart, accepts an offer from the enigmatic "Mr. X' and is given a new identity as Ryu Soma, a senior Funeral officer.
