PLOT
Appare Sorrano, a socially uncomfortable inventor who lived in a small rural hamlet in Japan in the late 19th century, he believes that no goal is too large. He has been learning to build machines of all kinds from various scientific articles since he has always been fascinated by the development of steamships that can transport people over enormous distances. The dark side of the moon is where he ultimately wants to arrive after sailing across the ocean and beyond the sky. Appare's little steamship is unfortunately lost in the middle of the ocean after a series of unfortunate incidents. Kosame Ishikki, a talented but cowardly samurai, who was tasked with controlling his unusual behavior, is floating alongside him. A huge vessel rescued them and transports them to Los Angeles just when all hope seems to be lost. They decide to take part in the "Trans-America Wild Race" because they have no money and no other plans, giving Appare the chance to build his own car and Kosame the chance to spend the winnings to get back home.
