On the way back to Nowy's Noah, the three heroes are caught in Bren's fugitive by Kant and brought near Orphan. The reclaimer's key figure, Governor Gaybridge, returns to Orphan. Baron and Jonathan were wary of pretending to be obedient because the governor was primarily responsible for distributing orphans to the United States.
