Norm wants to improve community spirit in the canyon and is convinced the key is a mascot. The only problem is whatever costume he puts on immediately caused Bear to attack and maul him. While this is going on, Bobby Joe, a young man intent on killing himself drops into the canyon and sadly, for him anyway, lives. When they find out he is terminally ill, the Canyonites decide to teach him the value of life by making his last days on earth wonderful. However, the time comes and goes and Bobby Joe is still alive and more and more people are getting annoyed with him for not keeping up his end of the deal and dying.
