When the Inner Circle Club learn of the Phoenix's power, they use Jason Wyngarde to create a new history in the mind of the confused Jean/Phoenix. While protecting Dazzler, a mutant club singer from being abducted by the Inner Circle, Cyclops and the X-Men get caught in this dangerous affair.
