Lavinia announces her summer plans and leads Jessie and Gertrude in taunting Sara, who is carrying a heavy pair of suitcases. Becky and Ermengarde sense Sara's sadness at seeing the reunited families, but Molly and James send Sara and Becky to buy soap. Becky is dismissed for the summer.
