Bucciarati sends the mold-affected Narancia back into the turtle, as he and Mista begin making their way up into the village to escape Cioccolata's deadly mold. As they climb upwards out of Green Day's range, Secco ambushes them with his Stand Oasis which allows him to swim through and soften solid ground which draws them back down. Bucciarati jumps off a ledge and ambushes Secco, who is surprised that Bucciarati is not affected by the mold which only attacks living things. They manage to escape in a car and drive towards Rome, but on the way Giorno notices that Bucciarati has a hole in his wrist, his skin is cold and that he has no pulse...
