PLOT

Following their abandonment at the same church, Asta and Yuno have never been apart. They made a pledge to each other as kids that they would compete to see who would succeed the current Emperor Magus. But as they grew older, some of their distinctions became obvious. Asta was unable to wield magic at all, but Yuno was a genius with it, possessing incredible power and control. Asta tried to compensate physically. At the age of 15, Yuno was given a wonderful book with a four-leaf clover (usually individuals receive a three-leaf clover), but Asta received absolutely nothing. But when Yuno was in danger and the extent of Asta's power became known, he was given a "black clover," a five-leaf clover Grimoire! The two companions are now heading towards the world to pursue their shared objective!
