PLOT
The elusive phantom thief Joker pulls off daring heists on priceless treasure after valuable treasure under the cover of the brilliant night. Dokusaburou Oniyama, a tenacious police detective, frequently backs the self-described "Miracle Maker" into a corner, but he frequently uses his arsenal of showy escape techniques to walk the border between science and magic. Joker encounters Hachi, a clumsy but sincere ninja, while carrying out a heist to steal the "Dragon Gem" from the estate of a snobbish multimillionaire. Hachi, who is chasing the same prize but reveres Joker, is only considered a bother by the latter. Nevertheless, the two are able to collaborate in order to pull off a successful theft. As a result of Hachi's intelligence, bravery, and practical housekeeping skills, Joker grudgingly decides to accept him as a pupil. Joker and Hachi butt heads with other phantom thieves as they set out with their sights set on the next treasure.
