PLOT
In this piece, rice—kome—is anthropomorphized into young lads. Five new students at the Kokuritsu Inaho Academy, often known as the "Rice Ear Academy" (a pun on the names of national schools), want to replace bread as the preferred grain there. To demonstrate the exquisite attraction of rice grains, the new students challenge themselves to perform at the "Harvest Show" as part of the "Love Rice" lesson. The audience will be able to learn the benefits of rice (referred to as "Japan's soul food") thanks to the "heartwarming 'kome'dy with laughs and passion."
