PLOT
A new generation of leaders, including the idealistic military genius Reinhard von Lohengramm and the reserved historian Yang Wenli of the Free Planets Alliance, usher in an end to the 150-year standoff between the two interstellar superpowers, the Galactic Empire and the Free Planets Alliance. Reinhard must battle not only the war but also the lingering forces of the disintegrating Goldenbaum Dynasty in order to liberate his sister from the Kaiser and unite humanity under a single legitimate ruler as he advances through the ranks of the Empire with the help of his childhood friend Siegfried Kircheis. In the meantime, on the other side of the galaxy, Yang, a fervent advocate of democratic values, must maintain his convictions in the face of opposition from the FPA and convince his student Julian Mintz that authoritarianism is not the answer. The two strategic masterminds must reflect on the true purpose of their conflict as ideologies clash amid the war's numerous losses.
