PLOT
Until his former coworker manages to con him, Kaiji Itou is a lazy scoundrel who spends his days stealing hubcaps and sipping beer. Kaiji is presented with a dubious proposition to take part in an illicit underworld bet aboard a cruise ship since he is unable to immediately pay off his friend's enormous debt on his own. He is plunged headfirst into a life-threatening roller coaster of mind games, deception, and dishonesty, and this ends up being nothing more than the beginning of his new life in hell. Gyakkyou Burai Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor, which is based on the first chapter of the renowned gambling manga series by Nobuyuki Fukumoto, follows our unfortunate protagonist as he is forced to battle not just other people but also the mysteries of their psyches. Kaiji learns the hard way that people's worst traits emerge when they're up against it, and that the worst threats of all are greed, paranoia, and the human survival instinct itself.
