PLOT
Cardia Beckford can make out her father Isaac and the house where she lives alone, dreaded as a monster by the villagers because she carries a deadly poison in her body, in her fuzzy memories. The ever-beating heart, also known as the Horologium, was implanted in her chest by her father and has the capacity to generate unlimited power. But it also causes her skin to annihilate whatever it touches. Many people in London are looking for the Horologium, including the terrorist group Twilight, who Isaac is said to have strong ties to. The British military takes Cardia as a prisoner and compels her to flee her house in order to harness the power of the Horologium. Arsène Lupin, a gentleman robber, seizes her as she is traveling, promising to win her heart. Cardia sets off on a quest with Lupin and his friends to learn the truth about Isaac's relationship with Twilight, her missing memories, and the Horologium in her chest.
