PLOT
Rena and Shugo are twins, the anime follows their adventure four years after the .hack games. The plot happens in a fictional world called ‘The World’. Rena wins a contest and gains ownership of 2 avatars in the design of the legendary .hackers, Kite and Black Rose. After a strange event, Shugo gains possession of the Twilight Bracelet. After that, Shugo and Rena go for an adventure to find Aura and solve the mystery of the Twilight Bracelet. An item that both helps and obstructs the possesser. On the way, they make a lot of friends, the play in The World alltogether. But the fun times end with the Rena being killed by a monster, after which he goes into a coma. Shugo and the friends they made look for a solution in the game while a group of children plotting a terrible thing on the outside world.
